Town Center has become the new hotspot of Virginia Beach. Town Center features the Sandler Center for the Performing Arts, home to world renowned entertainment. If outdoor adventure is more your thing, Little Neck provides great access to activities such as kayaking, boating, and water related activities. Virginia Beach is also home to a plethora of American history. The First Landing State Park allows visitors to retrace the steps of the nation’s forefathers. Virginia Beach City Public Schools (VBCPS) was ranked as the fifth best large school division in the United States by Great Schools. The district takes pride in offering advanced studies for their students. Students have the option of taking the rigorous International Baccalaureate curriculum, designed to meet the highest standards of any high school in the world. The district is also home to a Mathematics and Science Academy, which places a strong emphasis on the two core subjects. All 11 VBCPS high schools were ranked in the top 9 percent nationwide by The Washington Post newspaper. Sports and extracurricular activities are also extremely important to the district.
