Cultural Exchange Students

Located in the heart of the Adirondacks, this rural town is nestled between forests, mountains and lakes, making it the perfect place for outdoor adventure lovers. Year round festivals and contests include the jalapeńo eating contest, birding festival, ice fishing derby, Winterfest, holiday parades and fireworks, a bike race, 90 miler canoe race, The Great Adirondack Moose Festival, and the Country Christmas Tour. Eagles, deer and moose can all be spotted on the 300 miles of hiking trails near town. Ice hockey, skiing, skating, kayaking, fishing, hiking and snowshoeing are just a few of the many activities available in the area. The Adirondack museum offers insight into the history of the region and an open air bowling alley can be visited at nearby Great Camp Sagamore. This camp is a National Historic Landmark and was once the home of the Vanderbilt family, and a famous haunt for celebrities.

Indian Lake teams up with sister schools in Minerva, Long Lake and Newcomb so that students are able to play sports and take part in activities such as prom. An academic environment rich in practical and cultural experiences ensures that students graduate ready for success as young adults. Classes for college credit are available.
