Community Information

Chico is an excellent destination for those that love the arts and culture, as well as for those most comfortable in wide open spaces. Home to Chico State University, this town is always hosting interesting events, and there are many nationally ranked sports teams to follow. If you prefer to take part in sports yourself, then Bidwell Park is a must see. This 3,670 acre park is one of the largest municipal parks in the US and there are many paths to walk, hike and bike on. Scenic picnicking spots can be found throughout the park, as well as near the Honey-Run Covered Bridge, the only three story covered bride in the US. The bridge also happens to be near a great swimming spot. If city biking is more your style then feel free to bring your bike into town, Bicycling Magazine names Chico America’s Greatest Bike Town! There are many paths in and out of town to ride on and they are a great way to experience some of the town’s many murals and beautiful scenery. If you need a break from outdoor exercise then you can check out the National Yo Yo Museum. The museum has many yo yos on display, including the largest, a 256 pound monster. From the museum you can make your way to the indoor Garden Walk Mall, where you can shop a wide variety of small boutiques, while strolling along a garden path.
